Walk Score - Helping homebuyers, renters, and real estate agents find houses and apartments in great neighborhoods.
One of the hottest buzz words in real estate these days is "walkability". A lot of people are looking for a home in a neighborhood where schools, restaurants, groceries, public transit and entertainment are located in walking distance. Beginning Feb. 22, 2010 all active listings on the MLS will include a link to Walk Score, a website providing select information for a specific property address. This score calculates the walkability of an address based on the distance from to nearby amenities. The results are provided in an interactive map format as well as detailed dropdown list. Additional features include walkability scores and related features for both major cities and their neighborhoods.
